MT fine after minor surgery

The State's favourite storyteller M.T. Vasudevan Nair was keen to keep as secret a film-shooting unit vehicle hitting him while on a morning walk in Chennai last week. But the news spread fast. It is learnt that a young lyrics writer splashed it as soon as both of them reached Kozhikode by the same flight on Saturday.

A few Keralites who were in the van that hit the writer took him to a clinic. He was diagnosed as having a hairline fracture on the left toe. On Sunday, he got admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode city.

A minor surgery was conducted to remove a blood clot beneath the toe. He is recuperating now and will be discharged in a few days.
