CHENNAI: The women's industrial park in Thirumullaivoyal will soon get a new approach route to boost business, Industries Secretary D. Rajendran has said. "The Small Industries Development Corporation has asked the Avadi Municipality and the Villivakkam Panchayat Union to work on a stretch of the approach road, which is now in bad shape," Mr. Rajendran said at a seminar organised by the Women Entrepreneurship Promotional Association here on Thursday. The relaid road would reduce the travelling distance by about 11 km compared to the existing route. Funds of Rs. 17.6 lakhs had been allotted for the project and SIDCO had already given its share. Urging more women to become entrepreneurs, he said there were a slew of benefits extended to them by the State Government.
