INSPECTION: Minister of State for Labour Tanveer Sait being briefed by Executive Director of Mysore zoo Manoj Kumar at the zoo on Tuesday.
MYSORE: After an overflowing Karanji Lake caused havoc at Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens and damaged houses in Siddharth Nagar on Sunday, the Mysore district administration has started working on a plan to prevent damage. The efforts follow Minister of State for Labour Tanveer Sait's directive during a visit to the zoo on Tuesday. He asked engineers to prepare a plan to prevent flooding in the zoo and the residential areas in the vicinity of Karanji Lake. The plan will be ready in two days. According to sources, it will include improvements to drainage systems in the zoo and residential localities near the lake. Speaking to The Hindu , Executive Director of Mysore Zoo Manoj Kumar said the proposal seeks to put in place a permanent system.
