Scholar Badge function organised

NEW DELHI: Delhi Public School, Rohini, held its scholar badge and award ceremony here this past week.

The Director of Education, Vijay Kumar, lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the event. This was followed by a welcome address by the school's Principal, Rita Sen. The senior school choir presented the song `Saara Jahaan Hai Apna Jahaan'.

AEC Expo model unveiled

NEW DELHI: The Chairman of the National Advisory Board of AEC (Architecture/Engineering/Construction) World Expo and Conferences, Adi Godrej, unveiled the AEC World Expo model here on Tuesday.

Leading architects, engineers, construction professionals and those connected with the building and construction fraternity were present.

The five-day AEC World Expo and Conferences will be held at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai from December 14. A special attraction will be an exhibition of works by internationally renowned architects.

PNB's service kiosk opened

NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on Tuesday inaugurated an "Express Service Kiosk" at Punjab National Bank's Parliament Street branch. The new facility will guide customers through simple screen flows to make utility bill payments or deposit cheques for clearance.

According to PNB General Manager U.S. Bhargava, the new service has evolved a common value-driven platform for the bank, customers and clients. PNB is the first public sector bank in Delhi to offer cheque payment and bill collection through a kiosk.

School foundation stone laid

NEW DELHI: Lt. Gen. Mohinder Singh, Adjutant General at Army Headquarters, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Army Public School in Delhi Cantonment. It will be the fourth Army Public School in the National Capital Region.

The school, spread over 13 acres, is being constructed at a projected cost of Rs.14 crores. It will be a co-educational institution with classes from V to XII.

`Robbers' held

NEW DELHI: Four persons allegedly planning to commit a robbery in a chartered bus have been arrested by the South Delhi police.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Sarwan Singh, Mohammad Shakil, Shanker and Rameshwar, were arrested in Paras Chowk Park at Kalkaji on Monday evening.

Sex racket busted

NEW DELHI: Two alleged call girls and a pimp have been arrested by the South-West Delhi police. According to the police, the three were arrested outside a hotel in Delhi Cantonment on Monday when they met a decoy customer who had earlier struck a deal with them.
