THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Agriculture Minister K.R. Gouri denied the All India Kisan Sabha's charge that the copra procurement drive had resulted in massive corruption. In a statement here on Wednesday, the Minister said the Government had not evolved any new formula for copra procurement this time and that the Kerala Kerakarshaka Sahakarana Federation (KERAFED) Limited had not put forward any new conditions for copra procurement before the Government. The procurement was being carried out as decided by the Federation and the Government had not taken any new decision in the matter, the Minister added. The Minister said there was also no basis for the Kisan Sabha leaders' allegation that the CBI was not inquiring into the corruption that had taken place in the past in connection with copra procurement. Corruption involving Rs.132 crores had taken place when the Kisan Sabha leaders' partyman was the Agriculture Minister, she said..
