CHENNAI: As part of the company's `Global Volunteer Days programme' observed from October 15-30, employees of Oracle spent a day with the children of Hope Foundation at the Oracle office on Saturday.
Games and contests
Oracle organised various games and interactive sessions for around 30 students, from classes four and five. The event included activities such as origami, a drawing competition, computer games and screening of Tom and Jerry cartoons. "Our Chennai office has been conducting such events for the past three years. This year, we thought we would bring the children here," S. Datthathiri, Principal Consultant (eBusiness), Oracle.
Across cities
During the course of the two weeks, Oracle volunteers will involve themselves with children in several cities across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. After a cake was cut and a session on origami, the children were asked to draw something depicting Diwali. "The nice thing about this event is that employees involve themselves along with their families," said Mathew Thomas, General Manager (Sales).
