After that the young man, Karan, acted in about 50 films including, `Gokulathil Seethai' and `Kaadal Kottai.'

Back in action

After a gap of about three years, Karan is back. This time, he takes the lead role in "Kokki." The shooting for the film began a few days ago. It is about a rustic youngster `Kokkissamy' who comes from a village and experiences the city life.

Sanjana, who has acted in a Bengali movie, is the lead lady.

The other day Karan invited Kamal Hassan to a press meet to announce his movie plans.

Kamal said: "I felt that even when he acted in "Nammavar" he was a talented young man. Now he is experienced and so I feel "Kokki" will be a success." Karan expressed his gratitude by offering a massive garland of red roses.

No make up

No one dons any make up in `Kokki.' Prabhu Solomon who did "King," is taking care of the story, screenplay, dialogue and direction.
