Film chamber appeal to release subsidy

CHENNAI:
The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce has appealed to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa to release the subsidy given by the State Government to producers coinciding with Deepavali.
C. Sudarsana Srinivasan, honorary secretary, said the chamber was happy to note that you had fulfilled the assurance given to the Tamil film industry by sanctioning the subsidy of Rs. 5 lakhs for the pictures released between 2000 and 2002 and Rs. 7 lakhs for 2003-04 to make up Rs. 6.76 crores for 114 films for 2000-04. The SIFCC executive committee meeting held recently in Kozhikode, appreciated the gesture of the Chief Minister.
