Global bids invited for MRTS project

Up to four consultancy firms can form global consortia, says Government


  • Project to be implemented on three busy traffic corridors of about 60 km
  • Last date for receipt of consultancy bids is November 30
  • Detailed bid document placed on MCH website www.ourmch.com

    HYDERABAD: The State Government has invited global bids for engaging "Owners Consultant" for the Hyderabad Metro Rail (MRTS--Mass Rapid Transit System) project being implemented on three busy traffic corridors of about 60 km and costing Rs. 6,366 crores.

    According to a press release, up to four consultancy firms with the requisite MRTS technical evaluation capabilities, legal, financial and BOT expertise can form global consortia and bid for the consultancy contract.

    The areas of MRTS expertise required for the technical member of the consortium include elevated and underground railway track structure and stations, signalling, telecommunications, electric traction, air conditioning, depots, workshops and ventilation systems.

    Main function

    The main function of the consultants is to assist the Government in selection of technology and systems, preparation of technical and commercial bid documents for selection of BOT developers of the project, bid process management, financial modelling and assessment of viability gap funding, validation of the detailed project reports submitted by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and BOT developers.

    The last date for receipt of consultancy bids is November 30 and the detailed "three cover bid document" consisting of pre-qualification, technical and financial packages is placed on the MCH website -- www.ourmch.com.

    Streetlights must glow: Jaju

    Meanwhile, Commissioner of the MCH Sanjay Jaju has warned private contractors of stringent action if 100 per cent glowing of streetlights is not maintained and if complaints are not attended to on time.

    Contractors are asked to inspect the lights every day and identify non-glowing ones for action.

    Additional Commissioner (Electrical) S. Ravi Babu urged the public to lodge their complaints on toll-free number 1915, according to a press release.
