More scribes to come under insurance cover

HYDERABAD: The group health insurance scheme for working journalists launched by the Government in association with the United India Insurance Company Ltd. will cover 3,168 persons this year, as against 2,458 in 2004.

This was stated by Mohd. Ali Shabbir Minister for Information and Public Relations on Tuesday after handing over identity cards to several journalists at the Secretariat. According to an official release, he said the insurance company has agreed to provide additional benefits to the insured persons if they subscribed to the scheme for three years. K.V. Ramanachary, Commissioner, Information and PR, spoke. Ch. Raghavaiah, Assistant General Manager, UIICL, was among those who attended the function.
