Chennai:
Punjab National Bank has launched a scheme aimed at inculcating the saving habit in children.
PNB Vidyarthi, formally launched at Vivekananda College, carries several features such as zero balance for opening account, free debit card and commission-free issue of drafts for payment of examination fees, according to S. M. Veerapan, senior regional manager of the bank.
At the launch function, Vivekananda college secretary Satyapriyananda Swami offered his blessings.
Zero balance
Principal V.V. Subramanian asked the students to take advantage of the `zero balance' scheme, but also inculcate the savings habit.
