Couple questioned

in Ali case

The Humayunnagar police summoned Yadaiah and Yadamma on Tuesday for questioning in Qader Ali murder case. The couple said that they still do not believe that woman Sanaa Fatima (formerly Pallavi) who walked into High Court on Monday and appeared on a regional news channel is their daughter.

Policeman's house burgled

Thieves took away Rs. 17,000 and gold ornaments weighing six tolas after breaking into a policeman's house at Moosarambagh on Monday night. The house owner K. Jangaiah was a head constable of Police Transport Organisation, the Malakpet police said.

Handbag snatched

Two motorcycle-borne youngsters snatched away a handbag containing Rs. 2,000 cash from a woman while she was travelling in an autorickshaw on Monday night. When the vehicle reached Aliya junior college, the snatchers came from behind, pulled the bag and drove towards Public Garden side, the Abids police said.

Woman ends life

A 23-year-old woman Asra committed suicide in her room in a women's hostel located in Srinagar Colony after Sunday midnight.

The woman made an STD call from the telephone booth opposite the hostel and returned to her room around midnight. On Monday morning, the hostel watchman saw her body hanging from the ceiling fan.
