Three arrested, firearms seized

BANGALORE: The Wilson Garden Police have arrested three persons, including one from Bihar, on charges of illegal possession of firearms and conspiracy to commit robbery and recovered from them two shotguns and a stolen motorcycle. Police gave the names of the accused as Narendra Pande (22), native of Lakshminarayana district in Bihar, presently residing in Bellandur, Satish (19), resident of Marathahalli and Anand.

Police said Pande and Satish were arrested on Siddaiah Road on October 21 when they were riding the stolen motorcycle and based on their information, Anand was nabbed. The motorcycle was stolen from HAL Police Station limits 20 days ago.

Car stereos recovered

The Tilaknagar Police have arrested one person on charges of theft and recovered from him 31 car stereos worth Rs. 3 lakhs. Police gave the name of the accused as Gopala (33), resident of Krishnapura Doddi, Ramanagar Taluk. The accused had committed theft of stereos from different police station limits in the city.

Recovered

The Mahalakshmi Layout Police have arrested three persons on charges of chain snatching and recovered one gold chain worth Rs. 9,000. Police gave the names of the accused as Yellappa (22), Kumara (19) and Srinivasa (19) of Manjunath Nagar. The accused snatched a chain belonging to Sridevi on October 14 in Mahalakshmi Layout, police added.

The High Grounds Police arrested two persons on the charge of robbery and recovered from them two gold chains worth Rs. 35,000. Police gave the names of the accused as Ravi alias Ravi Kumar (19), resident of Nagavalli in Tumkur district and Raju (19), resident of Shanuboganahalli, Ramanagar Taluk. Police said the accused snatched a gold chain from Dinesh on Platform Road in Seshadripuram police station limits on September 7 and from Mamata near Sindhi School on October 10.

Arrested

The Magadi Road police arrested four persons on charges of theft and recovered from them nine mobile phone handsets and two motorcycles used to commit the crime. Police gave the names of the accused as Santosh alias Santu (20) of Rajajinagar, Sumanth (18) of Chandra Layout, Dilip (18) of Shivanagar and Manjunatha alias Bhatta (21) of Magadi Road.

Police said the accused used to sell stolen handsets to one Mohit at Hong Kong Bazaar.

The Krishnarajapura Police have arrested one person on charge of burglary and recovered gold jewellery worth Rs. 1.89 lakhs from him. Police gave the name of the accused as Shankar alias Suleman (28), resident of Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu. With his arrest, eight theft cases reported from Krishnarajapura, two cases from Bangarpet and one from Jolarpettai have been solved, police claime.

The Ulsoor Police arrested three persons on charges of theft and recovered from them mobile phone handsets and a gold chain worth Rs. 52,000. Police gave the names of the accused as Gouse Peer (18), Akram (21) and Saifu (23) of Kothanur Vijinapura. The accused had committed theft in different police station limits in the city, police added.
