Pondicherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamay today distributed Rs. 10,000 to each of the 29 poor families to enable them to meet part of expenditure of marriage of the girls in the families. The scheme operated by the Women and Child Development Department of Pondicherry Administration aims at covering 150 families during this year, an official source said. The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, R. V. Janakiraman, and the Director of the Department Ms. Devi Mathews were among those present.
