DRI impounds two BMW cars
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Thursday impounded two BMW cars allegedly belonging to a big-time property developer.
The impounded vehicles allegedly belong to MGF Developers. The DRI has also identified a Porch, allegedly belonging to a Bollywood hero, a Toyota Camary and a Mercedes. These vehicles were imported by the South Delhi-based Vacation Tours and Travels, which allegedly availed itself of a waiver of 100 per cent on import duty for each vehicle under a government scheme on the pretext of using them for tourism purposes to bring in foreign currency.
But, the vehicles were allegedly sold to private parties. Tours and travels owner, L. Mathew, was questioned by the DRI on Wednesday.
