Chennai trains cancelled
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
Because of heavy rain and floods in South India, Northern Railway on Thursday cancelled at least two trains while several trains were reportedly running late.
The trains that remained cancelled included the Delhi-Chennai Tamil Nadu Express and the Delhi-Chennai G.T. Express. According to a senior Northern Railway official, several trains running between the Southern States and the rest of the country have been affected leading to rescheduling and cancellation of several services. "The trains that left Delhi for Chennai or other important cities in South India are likely to reach late due to the disruption. North-bound trains from rain-affected areas may arrive late. This is likely to affect the schedule of several trains.".
