BASF to expand polymer dispersions unit capacity

NEW DELHI: BASF India plans to expand the capacity of its polymer dispersions manufacturing plant in Mangalore to 65,000 tonnes annually effective first quarter of 2007 from 20,000 tonnes. Polymer dispersions are widely used in the paper, paint, adhesives and construction industries. "This is part of BASF's strategic plan to steadily strengthen the foundation of its Asian operations," says Prasad Chandran, Chairman and Managing Director, in a release.
