KOCHI: Great literature and art come from participation in great events. When a writer brings in participation of the masses in his works, he joins the ranks of great writers such as Tolstoy, said Sunit Chopra, CPI(M) Central Committee member. He was speaking after the release of `Maharoudram,' the new novel by Simon Britto, at the Town Hall here on Friday. Mr. Chopra handed over the first copy of the book to P.R. Krishnan, secretary, Maharashtra State Committee, CITU. In his inaugural address, literary critic M.K. Sanu said that Britto had crossed many obstacles in life owing to a strong will. K.P. Mohanan, son of writer Cherukad, delivered the Cherukad commemorative lecture. Suresh Kurup, MP, presided over. Actor Murali delivered the keynote address.
