All set for rock music contest

Bangalore: Come November and college campuses across the country, those in Bangalore included, are going to be rocking for the "Campus Rock Idols" inter-college rock music competitions sponsored by Hero Honda and Pepsi. The event is being held for the second year.

Revved up

This year's competitions have been revved up with the Finnish rock band, "The Rasmus", as an integral part of Campus Rock Idols. The band members will be on the jury to judge two regional finals for the West and South Zones and afterwards give two live performances, one in Bangalore. Prestorika, winners of last year, will perform alongside The Rasmus.

Twelve cities

Campus Rock Idols will be held in 12 cities altogether over two months from November 12, culminating at a grand finale in Goa. Interested campus bands can log onto www.dnanetworks.com for details.

Regional finals

After the city events, the regional finals will be held at various places, including Bangalore. The participants will be the first two winning bands from each of the regional events. The chosen bands will be provided travel and accommodation expenses.
