Police issue guidelines on sale of crackers

HUBLI: In view of the Deepavali festival, the police have issued guidelines for sale of crackers in the twin cities specifying the place for sale.

According to a press release issued here on Saturday, police have prohibited sale of crackers at the shops of those who have license for sale of explosives from October 30 to November 3.

These license holders should sell crackers only at Nehru Stadium in Hubli and Kadapa Maidan in Dharwad.

The sellers of crackers should abide by the conditions prescribed by the Deputy Chief Controller of Explosives, Mangalore, during the Deepavali festival.

During setting up their stalls in the specified places, they should follow the guidelines and should ensure that there is enough ventilation.

If the sellers fail to follow any of guidelines or conditions, then there license is liable to be cancelled and legal action initiated against them, the press release said.
