Mrudula bags title

HYDERABAD : M. Mrudula defeated Jayasree 11-2, 11-6, 11-7 in the mini cadet girls final of the fifth AWASA Shyam Krishna Homes State-ranking table tennis tournament at Khairatabad here on Saturday.

Rajeev wins title

I.V. Rajeev of Kakinada won the billiards title defeating State No.1 and top-seeded L. Durga Prasad of Vijayawada 702-640 in the final in the third-leg AP State billiards and snooker tournament at KVBR stadium (Yousufguda) on Saturday.

In the snookers semifinal, S. Praveen Kumar, who knocked out top-seeded Shankar Rao on Friday, continued his good run defeating Vineeth Khanjani 61-37, 57-5, 57-5, 22-74, 33-56, 24-49, 59-52 while John Bosco put it across K. Someshwar Rao 70-41, 41-16, 66-28, 24-73, 1-75, 64-25.

Froebel's Sports Meet

The 14th annual Froebel's inter-school sports meet will be organised from November 28 to December 3 at it's premises at Red Hills. Two coaches — Syed Arif and G.P. Phalguna — from Andhra Pradesh have been selected by the All India Football Federation to attend the Youth Development Coaching workshop to be held in Bangalore from November 1 to 11. Both are employees of State Bank of India.

The final of the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Challenge prize money football tournament to be held at Trimulgherry Village Grounds on Sunday has been postponed in view of heavy rains lashing the twin cities. Fresh dates will be intimated later.

Harsha, Amogha

qualify

G. Harsha Vardhan Reddy and Amogha Varsha qualified in boys' section to represent Hyderabad in the National under-seven chess championship for boys and girls to be held in Aurangabad from November 6. N. Sarojini Devi and R. Aamuktha Malyada booked the slot from the girls' category for the same meet.
