I'm deeply saddened: Kalam

NEW DELHI: President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has condoled with the loss of lives in Saturday's derailment of the Repalle-Secunderabad Passenger in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh.

The President, in his messages to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives and injuries. He was sure that the Railway Ministry and the State Government were engaged in rescue and relief operations.

Mr. Kalam also spoke over telephone to Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde and Dr. Reddy.
