Pondy PCC reconstituted

CHENNAI: Congress president Sonia Gandhi has cleared an exhaustive list of office bearers for the Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee. P. Shanmugam continues as the president.

An AICC release announced the appointment of six Vice presidents, seven General Secretaries, a treasurer, 14 Secretaries, 13 Executive committee members, nine permanent invitees and five special invitees, making it an omni-bus organisation to try and accommodate all groups.

The vice presidents are: V. Sababathi, A. Annamalai Reddiar, R. Muthukrishnan, Fathima Biwi, Pratap Raj Udaiyar and Cesai Xavier - most of new to the post. The general secretaries for the Union Territory are: A. Gandhiraj, S. Jothinarayanasamy, S. Gananapragasam, R. Ravindra Varma, Marie Theresa and V.M.C. Ganapathi, many of them new faces to the position. Hemapandurangan is the new treasurer. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and former PCC chief V. Narayanasamy figure among the permanent invitees.
