THRISSUR: The face of a passenger was cut with blade by his acquaintance while they were travelling on the Ernakulam-Guruvayur passenger train late on Friday night. The police said the victim was identified on Saturday as Kottammal Veettil Asharaf Sheriff (23) of Mattilayam in Wayanad. The accused was identified as Asharaf of Ernakulam, who was alleged to be a pickpocket. Both Asharaf and Sheriff were known to each other for quite some time and as per the information available with the police, the attack occurred when Sheriff refused to collaborate with Asharaf in picking pockets.
