Man consumes poison in police commissioner's office

VIJAYAWADA: An auto-rickshaw driver attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in the Police Commissioners office here on Saturday.

He was admitted to Government General Hospital and his condition is said to be stable.

According to Suryaraopet police auto-rickshaw driver Nallapu Ramana (45) of Labbipet had hired a vehicle from K. Rambabu of Benz Circle.

Rambabu scolded Ramana at Tiruvuru on Thursday for taking the vehicle out of the city without his knowledge.

Ramana came to the Commissionerate on Saturday morning to lodge a complaint against Rambabu with Police Commissioner Umesh Sharaff.

Commissionerate staff found Ramana in an unconscious state and alerted the Suryaraopet police who admitted him to the hospital. A case was registered.
