Ex-gratia announced

NEW DELHI: Describing the three blasts in the Capital as a dastardly act, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday urged the Delhiites not to panic and avoid going to crowded markets and congested areas in the run-up to Diwali. Ms. Dikshit also announced, after visiting various hospitals where the injured had been admitted, that the Delhi Government would bear all the expenses incurred on the treatment of the injured.

It has also been decided that in case the injured take treatment at a private hospital, the Government would pay for those expenses.The Chief Minister also announced that it had been decided to pay Rs. 3 lakhs as ex-gratia to the kin of those killed in the blast and Rs. 50,000 each to the seriously injured. She also announced that a centralised list of all those killed and injured was being prepared and all the hospitals had been asked to deploy the maximum possible number of para-medical personnel to deal with this situation and ensure that there is no laxity in the treatment of the injured.
