Vaiko thanks Manmohan

CHENNAI: The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) general secretary, Vaiko, on Saturday thanked the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, for the Government's decision to permit candidates to write Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examinations in any language mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

Mr. Vaiko contacted the Prime Minister over phone expressing his gratitude and happiness over the decision.

According to a release issued by the MDMK headquarters here, Mr. Vaiko had written to Dr. Singh, seeking his intervention in conducting all the examinations for Central services such as Railways, Army, banking and Income Tax.
