49 years of cooperation

CHENNAI
: The 49th anniversary of The Hindu Office and National Press Employees' Union was celebrated here on Saturday.
Participating in the function, Joint Managing Director N. Murali said it was not the 49th anniversary of the union but the completion of 49 years of cooperation between The Hindu management and the union which, he said, was a significant event. Over the years, the management with the cooperation of employees succeeded in meeting challenges. In future also the management in cooperation with the union would face any major challenge that was likely to come up.
The general secretary of the union, N.P. Ramajayam, in his welcome address said the union was indebted to the management for its growth. The anniversary was only a thanksgiving function to the management. He thanked the management for its magnanimity in being liberal in sanctioning monetary benefit and promotion to employees. He was confident that the cooperation would continue in the years to come.
The union vice-president, S. Krishnaswamy, presiding said that workers would extend all possible cooperation to the management in getting ISO certification.
