The dead included two boys
|
CHENNAI:
Six deaths were reported due to rain in the city and its suburbs in the last two days. The dead included a 10-year-old and 12-year-old boys.
According to the police, the deaths were reported at Vyasarpadi, Korukkupet, Oggiyam Thorappakkam, Thiruverkadu and Ennore.
Police said Charanraj (10), a resident of Oggiyam Thorappakkam, who went to have a bath on Saturday, was drowned. The body has not yet been traced. D. Mohanavel (12) of Ennore was trapped in muddy waters.
Police retrieved the body of Prabakar (36) near the Vyasarpadi bridge on Friday and the body of an unknown person was recovered from Meenambal Nagar, Korukkupet.
N. John of K.M. Garden, who was rescued, died in hospital. One body was recovered from Matharavedu near Thiruverkadu.
