HYDERABAD: Sakshi Human Rights Watch, a human rights organisation, on Saturday sought compensation and rehabilitation for a 25-year-old differently abled woman, who was allegedly raped by an autorickshaw driver at Yadagirigutta in Nalgonda in August 2003. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Dr. Prasad, director of the organisation said that the victim was allegedly raped by S. Mysaiah Goud of Saidapur village and a case was registered against him on August 27, 2003. "Even after two years, no compensation has been paid to the woman under the SC/ST Atrocities Act," he said. An orphan, the woman used to seek alms at Yadagirigutta. The victim said she had requested the authorities to allot a house under the Indira Awas Yojana Scheme and monthly pension under the SC/ST women rape victims' scheme.
Stir threatened
Dr. Prasad requested the Government to provide compensation to the victim as per Atrocity Rules 1995. He threatened to launch a State-wide agitation if justice was not done to the victim.
