The evolution of the media

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Students of the Pune-based Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication (SIMC) were here again last week to organise a seminar under the banner of "Footprints 2005." This year's seminar was titled "Radio and Theatre: The New Face of the Old Order," an event aimed at giving the audience a dose of information on how the two media had evolved in recent times.

The seminar, held at the convention centre of NIMHANS, features the faces in front of, as well as those behind the scenes, in these media. Counsellor Ali Khwaja gave his insight on how these two media impacted the audience at the psychological level.

Also featured were talks on careers in radio and theatre by Radio City RJ, Darius Sunawalla, and theatre person Vivek Madan.

Seven students from SIMC, running around the city to make the event a success, had also arranged a series of fun-filled contests, screened a few short films and injected some more energy into the seminar with a performance by the rock band "Black Earth."
