Council concerned over rising violence

KOZHIKODE: The Corporation Council, which met here on Monday, expressed its concern escalation of violence in the city.

CPI(M) councillor N.C. Prathapkumar in a calling attention motion said that the police have failed in curbing the menace of violence in the city. Deputy mayor P.T. Abdul Latheef was in the chair in the absence of Mayor M. Bhaskaran.

It was decided to hold a meeting of Corporation authorities with the city police commissioner in this regard. CPI(M) councillor P.T. Rajan demanded a breakwater between north and south piers in the beach in order to prevent further sea erosion.
