Azad invited to form government

SRINAGAR:
Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt. Gen. (retd.) S.K. Sinha on Monday invited Congress Legislature Party leader Ghulam Nabi Azad to form the new government.
A Raj Bhavan spokesman said: "The Governor has scrutinised the papers submitted by Mr. Azad yesterday [Sunday] and is satisfied about the support he commands in the Assembly."
Mr. Azad (56) would be sworn in the 10th Chief Minister by Lt. Gen. Sinha at 5 p.m. on November 2 at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre here. People's Democratic Party Legislature Party leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig will be sworn in Deputy Chief Minister.
