Rangarajan shines

VISAKHAPATNAM: Tamil Nadu off-spinner Malolan Rangarajan ran through the Andhra batting to give his team a good start in the South Zone under-17 round-robin match against Andhra at the ACA-VDCA Stadium here on Wednesday.

After the first day's play was completely washed out, Andhra, batting first was bundled out for 95. Rangarajan claimed six wickets while left-arm spinner Saawan picked up three wickets.

Tamil Nadu was 113 for two at close of play.

No play was possible for the second successive day in the matches between Hyderabad and Kerala and Karnataka and Goa.

The scores:

Andhra 95 in 49.4 overs (Malolan Rangarajan six for 27) vs Tamil Nadu 113 for two in 55 overs (M.P. Srivatsan 46 not out).
