PMC workers to stage picketing before Secretariat on Nov. 15

Pondicherry: Members of the farmers wing of the Puduchery Munnetra Congress (PMC) and party volunteers would picket the Chief Secretariat on the beach road here on November 15 to urge the Administration to intervene immediately and ensure settlement of dues from management of (now defunct) privately-run sugar mills at Ariyur near here.

Partyvice-president P. Iyyannarappan said in a release here on Wednesday the mill had not paid the prices due to the farmers who had supplied sugar cane some years ago and the mill workers were also not paid their wages for the past couple of years. The farmer's wing of the party led by Mr R. Janakiraman Reddy would stage the picketing.
