Sanam Singh jumps to No. 13 in the world

NEW DELHI: The recently crowned Asia-Oceania junior Sanam Singh has jumped up to No.13 in the latest ITF junior ranking list.

The 17-year-old Chandigarh lad, who had earlier in the season won the Asian junior title in Seoul, has 642.50 combined ranking points, 510 from singles and 132.50 from doubles Actually, only one fourth of a player's doubles points count for the combined ranking, and Sanam has 530 doubles points.

Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan figures at No.25 and Vivek Shokeen at No. 29. Among the girls, only Sandhya Nagaraj figures in the top-100 at No.83, while Sanaa Bhambri has reached No.309 following her only tournament in the junior section this season in Bangkok.

Madura Ranganathan at 197, Sandri Gangothri (271), Karina Ahuja (300) apart from the national junior champion Poojashree Venkatesh (331) are the other leading Indian girls in the ITF computer.
