YSR's gesture to orphaned youngster
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
Moved by the plight of a hapless 18-year-old orphan, who was allegedly raped and her face disfigured in Nalgonda district, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Wednesday announced financial
assistance of Rs. 50,000 and a job.
The victim, accompanied by the Miryalaguda MLA, Julakanti Ranga Reddy, met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat and narrated her frightful experience.
The woman hailing from Kalwakatta village in Damarcharla mandal, who lost her parents at a young age, was allegedly accosted by one Yellaiah in the village. She was dragged to an isolated place on the village outskirts and brutally raped. The Chief Minister immediately directed the Nalgonda Collector to ensure that the girl was provided suitable employment and also extend financial assistance of Rs. 50,000.
