Chain snatchers strike twice
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Two scooter-borne youngsters snatched away gold chains from two women at Panjagutta and Banjara Hills within a gap of a few minutes on Wednesday morning.
A housewife Sarita was out for her morning walk along with two of her neighbours at around 5.50 a.m. in Nagarjunanagar Colony of Yellareddyguda.
The duo came on a light green scooter, snatched her `mangalasutra' and sped away, the Panjagutta police said.
Ten minutes later, it struck at Banjara Hills relieving a woman Krishnaveni (75), of her gold chain while she was on her way to a temple.
The woman shouted for help but none was around, Banjara Hills Inspector E. Shankar Reddy said.
Going by the description of the accused and the vehicle given by the two victims, the police believe it was the same gang behind the two offences.
