Belgaum: The Belgaum District Kannada Organisations Action Committee has urged Deputy Commissioner Shalini Rajneesh to initiate action against schools and gram panchayats that avoided celebrating Rajyotsava November 1. Submitting a memorandum in this regard here on Thursday, committee president Ashok Chandargi said these institutions, mainly in border areas, had ignored the directions from the district administration to celebrate Rajyotsava in all schools in the district. There are reports of certain schools in Athani taluk and other areas in the boundary areas ignoring the official orders, he said.
