CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Directorate of School Education has suspended Sunita Devi, lecturer in Sanskrit at Government Senior Secondary School, Kanina, in Mahendergarh district for allegedly committing forgery in her transfer case. The Commissioner and Director-General of School Education, K.K. Khandelwal, said here on Thursday that it had been decided to immediately register a criminal case against her to get the whole issue thoroughly investigated. He said a directive was received from the office of the Chief Minister stating that Sunita Devi might be transferred to the Government Senior Secondary School at any of the three places mentioned in the note against vacancy. A photocopy of this note was also received in the Directorate of School Education wherein in addition to the proposed places of transfer, another station had also been added in handwriting. Believing the photo-copy to be the true orders from the Chief Minister's Secretariat, the department issued orders transferring Sunita Devi to the station that had been added in handwriting. Subsequently the matter was brought to the notice of the CM's Secretariat. It was then found that the Officer on Special Duty in the Chief Minister's Secretariat, K.V. Singh, had neither added any station to the note.
