Portrait of the accused being prepared based on mother's description

HYDERABAD:
The police on Thursday ruled out a possible connection between the abduction of the 15-day-old baby girl at Kothi Government Maternity Hospital on Wednesday and three other similar cases reported in the past 18 months at Saifabad and Nampally.
Except for the accused being women, there are no other common factors, the Sultanbazar ACP Ch. Ramchander said. A special police team on Thursday visited the hospital and questioned the guards on duty and other staff members if they had spotted any women moving under suspicious circumstances in the hospital in the past few days.
Efforts are on to prepare the portrait of the two women based on the description given by the infant's mother Gloria. "Once these portraits are ready, we will be able to ascertain if the suspects in earlier cases had any role in the new case," the ACP explained. Messages had been flashed across all the police stations in and around the city. A list of women having criminal record is being prepared.
The police took Ms. Gloria around the hospital and searched some localities near her residence in Amberpet. A crying Ms. Gloria hoped the kidnappers would change their mind and leave the baby somewhere after coming to know about her agony through the media.
