KOTTAYAM: Chennai teams, Hindu Senior Secondary School and Chettinad Vidyasramam finished their campaign in the CBSE South Zone inter-cluster basketball tournament on a glorious note by winning the boys' and girls' titles respectively at the Girideepam Bethany Stadium here on Friday. In the boys' section, the Chennai side was tied with Choice Public School, Tripunithura with 9 points at the end of the six-team round-robin league, but was declared the winner as it had won the match between the two sides. Chettinad Vidyasaramam, on the other hand, emerged a facile winner of the girl's section after completing its engagements in the four-team league on an unbeaten note. The side, in its last match on Friday, staved off a stiff challenge from eventual runner-up Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara 47-46. The results (final round-robin league matches): Boys: St. Thomas Central School, Thiruvananthapuram 31 (Rohit Bhaskar 14) bt Army Public School, Secundrabad 19 (Abhijeet Singh 10). Choice Public School 83 (Mathai George 32, Amit Krishnan 26, Jacob Sebastian 11) bt Little Rock Indian School, Udupi (Prasad H.Hegde 21). Girls: Chettinad Vidyasaramam 47 (S.Divya 18, Pravithra 16) bt Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, 46 (Preethy George 12).
