SHIMLA: Swami Ramdev, the world famous television yoga guru, inaugurated a holistic treatment centre set up under the Vivekanand Medical Research Trust headed by the former Union Minister Shanta Kumar in his hometown in Palampur on Thursday. The first phase of the very ambitious Vivekanand Hospital, a dream project of Mr. Shanta Kumar has become functional after almost a decade. Mr. Kumar has named the naturopathy treatment centre "Kayakalap". So far Rs 10 crore has been spent on it. The picturesque health resort which has come up in the mid hills of Himachal gives one a feeling of being in a quaint European setting. The health resort boasts of specialised massage centres and Finnish saunas. A very high income bracket clientele is expected to avail the facilities at the ultra modern medical spa where the former Minister also owns a big private hotel "Yamini". Yoga, pranayam, naturopathy, dhyan, physiotherapy, panchkarma, acupressure and magnetic therapy facilities would be available in the pollution free hospital at Kayakalap. The second phase of the hospital dealing with allopathic treatment would be made operational soon, informed Mr. Shanta Kumar. At the inaugural ceremony, Swami Ramdev claimed that his Patanjali Yoga Peeth in Haridwar is doing intensive research to find a remedy for HIV positive patients.
