CHENNAI: A half-day free seminar on "Business English and IELTS" will be conducted in the city on Saturday, November 12, at the Tamil Nadu Foundation Inc. U.S. (TNF) Technology Centre. The foundation, a philanthropic organisation, prepares students for Cambridge Business English Certificates (BEC) and IELTS with help from experienced teachers. The seminar will be helpful to engineering students and graduates, and to those seeking placement in I.T companies. The BEC is increasingly recognised by a number of multinational companies as a criteria for recruitment. Many universities in the United Kingdom recognise BEC as a suitable entry requirement for international students, especially for business related courses. The IELTS is a requirement for students seeking admission into post-graduate/research programs at globally accredited universities. During the training, the participants will know more about communication skills, presentation skills, personality development and etiquette. Students should register before November 11, the three-hour seminar on November 12 is limited to 50 participants. For details, contact Tamil Nadu Foundation, No. 27, Taylors Road, Chennai 600 010. Phone 5204 6319, 2644 6319. Email: tnftnc@vsnl.net
