Victim notes down registration number of bike used by offenders

HYDERABAD: The Saifabad police on Friday solved a robbery case within eight hours based on the registration number of the motorcycle the offenders had used.

Ameerpet Fantoosh shop owner B. Surya Prakash Reddy and his friend Pradeep were going to Malakpet on a motorcycle around 3 a.m.

Three motorcycle-borne youngsters intercepted them at Lumbini Park. The trio pounced on Reddy, beat him up and snatched his bag containing Rs. 43,000 and rode off.

Reddy noted down the bike number and approached the Saifabad police who traced it to a house in Tolichowki. When the police party arrived at the address, Mohd. Ameen, Mohd. Basheer Ahmed, Muneeruddin and Mohd. Omer were allegedly seen sharing the booty, the Saifabad Inspector K.V. Ramnarsimha Reddy said. Later, they admitted to the robbery. The entire amount was recovered intact.

The Saifabad police also solved another sensational robbery committed at Kushal Towers in Khairatabad two months ago by picking up three persons. The trio robbed Annapurna hotel manager P.S. Bhaskar Rao by barging into his penthouse atop the apartment building and sprinkling chilli powder on him. Mahesh, one of the arrested, was an ex-employee of Annapurna hotel.

He, along with his associates, D. Shankar and Raju, allegedly hatched the plot to rob the manager.

The entire stolen property was recovered.
