THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : The world's first and most famous stamp, Penny Black (1840), will be among the 10,000-odd stamps on display at a district-level two-day philatelic exhibition, `Tripex 2005,' getting under way at the Bhagyamala Auditorium in the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium complex here on Monday. The exhibition is being organised here under the auspices of the Thiruvananthapuram North and South Postal Divisions with the aim of promoting philately among the young, especially school children. On the inaugural day, two special covers, one on Kovalam beach, and another on Arattu, will be released, a press release quoting organising committee chairman A. V. George said. The attractions of the exhibition include "Gandhi" stamps, thematic collections from different countries and the first stamp of independent India.
