Rs.242 crores for infrastructure

Pondicherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has said that the Public Works Department here was spending Rs 242 crores annually for the infrastructural development and facilities for various offices and educational institutions in the Union Territory.

Laying the foundation of Rs 1-crore premises for the Pondicherry Planning Authority (PPA) here on Friday he said that the Union Territory Administration had approached the Centre for sanction of powers to address the problems arising out of construction of buildings without adhering to the building rules and guidelines governing the erection of the structures by private builders.
