NGEF union seeks revival of unit

BANGALORE: The New Government Electrical Factory (NGEF) Employees Union will stage a demonstration in front of the residence of Chief Minister on November 15 demanding revival of factory.

The union's office-bearers said that the Government was considering revival of the factory and a case was pending before the High Court. But its liquidator had published tenders in the newspapers on Friday to auction NGEF property. Seven employees had died after NGEF gave the golden handshake to 2,100 employees in 2002. The interests of the remaining employees should be protected, they said.
