Pipeline damaged

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Damage of a pipeline passing beneath the Chala market road has flooded a portion of the road since Friday night.

According to Kerala Water Authority (KWA) officials, the pipeline was damaged when a trench was dug nearby to lay telephone cables. The KWA is, however, yet to identify the agency that laid the cable some days ago.

Two pits have been dug on the road and water is being pumped out into the nearby drainage canal, KWA officials said. Water supply to this damaged line has not been shut off.
