Woman found murdered

After killing the woman the culprits had set the body ablaze

BANGALORE: An unidentified woman aged around 35 was found murdered in an industrial area on Bannerghatta Road on Friday night.

The police said that after killing the woman, the culprits had set her body on fire.

Passers-by, who noticed the half-burnt body lying in an industrial area near Dairy Circle, alerted the police.

The MICO Layout police have registered a case.

Arrested

The Vijayanagar police on Friday arrested D. Rajkumar (40) of RPC Layout, who had allegedly cheated the public by promising them sites.

The police said Rajkumar had taken lakhs of rupees from the public promising them sites at Bapuji Layout. But he neither got them the sites nor returned the money.

In some cases, the cheques he had issued to people bounced, the police said.

The victims had lodged a case against him in the court.

Following orders from the court, the police arrested Rajkumar, who was at large for a long time.

VCDs seized

The Hanumanthanagar police on Thursday raided a shop on 4th Main, 4th Cross, Sreenivasanagar, and seized pornographic VCDs and a television set. The police arrested the proprietor of the shop, Ramesh (24) of Maruthi Layout.

Run over

A 24-year-old motorcyclist, who fell down after hitting a stationary tractor, was reportedly run over by a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus on the ring road near Doddanegunthi on Saturday afternoon.

The police said the victim, Sharan (24) of Marathahalli, died on the spot.

He was an employee of a private company.

Commits suicide

A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide at his house in Javarayanadoddi in Girinagar police station limits on Friday.

The police said the boy, Siddaraju, a VI standard student, hanged himself.

His parents told the police that he regularly watched crime serials on Kannada television channels and expressed the suspicion that this could be the cause for his suicide.
